our history

The Victoria Women's Newcomers Club (VWNC) began around 1996 when a group of women, new to Victoria, wanted to find a way to meet others who had  recently come to the city. The club has met in many different locations around Victoria but currently holds its luncheons at the Union Club. Membership has grown from the small group that started the VWNC to a current membership of more than 170. Every month, the club sees an increase in membership from five to ten women new to the city. What started 26 years ago continues to serve a need important to its members.
