WELCOME TO THE VICTORIA WOMEN'S NEWCOMERS CLUB!
The VWNC was founded to help women meet friends by participating with others new to the city in a variety of club activities. The club hosts monthly luncheons on the first Thursday with speakers of interest to the diverse group of women who are club members. Book clubs, hiking, city and art tours, movies, theatre, and bridge are just some of the many activities offered. Some, such as in-home dinners, appetizer evenings and pub nights, welcome partners.
We organize small groups such as book discussions, walking, bridge, and more... Participation in any of our group activities is open to all members.

The five w's
WHO are the members of the Victoria Women’s Newcomers Club (VWNC)?
The membership is comprised of women, most of whom are retired professionals, ranging in age from mid-40’s to 80+. They have recently moved from places across North America and many other countries worldwide. They are single, widowed, divorced and married or with partners. Membership is open to women who have moved to Victoria within three years prior to joining.
WHY do women join VWNC?
They join to meet other newcomers to the city and to participate in the wide variety of activities offered by the club. They also join to learn about and to experience the many attractions available throughout Victoria—from shops, restaurants, museums, city parks, hiking trails and golf.
HOW do women become members of VWNC?
They can come to two monthly luncheons as guests before deciding to join the club. An application form is available online as is payment of the $40 membership fee. Guests and new members must reserve online in order to attend a luncheon.
WHEN & WHERE are luncheons and activities held?
Luncheons are held monthly between September and June at the Union Club in downtown Victoria (805 Gordon Street). The locations of VWNC activities are set by the conveners and are printed alongside the activity listings on the website.
